For Corinne Gibbons, otherwise known as Corinne Starr, life has always been intertwined with music. From touring with Jack Sonni of Dire Straits to recording with Tower of Power in Los Angeles, and releasing four solo albums, which have won awards including, a global Peace award and two best Nature film awards for Melt, Corinne has carved a remarkable path in the global music scene. Yet despite her professional success, she often felt an inner longing, a desire to reconnect with her authentic self and tap into a deeper well of creativity and purpose.
After the loss of several family members, Corinne describes experiencing “a real big dark night of the soul.” She instinctively knew that to truly re-engage with life, she needed to undertake a transformative challenge. That calling led her to the Hoffman Process in 2010, a decision that she describes as profoundly life-changing.
“The Process creates a space where you really need to sit with your child of origin and tune in to that journey,” Corinne reflects. “It’s simultaneously one of the most challenging and the most expansive experiences of your life. For me, that journey made me fall in love with who I am and what makes me tick.”
Emerging from the Process, Corinne felt empowered, vibrant, and more grounded than ever before. She gained clarity on the areas of her life that needed attention and felt the momentum to continue her personal healing journey. “It was luminous,” she recalls. “I felt ready to proceed with my life from a more aware and conscious space.”
But the transformation didn’t stop there, it radiated outward into her work and her impact on others. Meditation, self-awareness, and emotional attunement became central to her creative practice, shaping her approach to music, coaching, and community engagement. She founded Discover Your Voice, a program facilitating choral workshops for organisations worldwide, helping teams connect and create harmony through song. She also mentors children through Search for the Sparkle, guiding them to find their voices and express themselves through music. Her compositions for Singapore Repertory Theatre musicals and collaborations with organisations like Phil Collins’ Little Dreams Foundation highlight the global reach of her work.
Just recently, Corinne has been nominated for a Leadership and Advocacy Award by Elets, to be presented at the World Education Summit in Dubai in February.
“Everything in my life expanded after I did Hoffman,” Corinne says. “The Process gave me tools to energetically connect with what I need to do, and how I need to be with the tender parts of myself that require attention. It not only enhanced my creativity – it gave me the capacity to hold space for others, to nurture their growth and expression.”
For Corinne, the Hoffman Process was not just a personal transformation; it was a catalyst for purpose, leadership, and the healing potential that music and creativity can offer to communities worldwide. Her story reminds us that true transformation is both deeply personal and profoundly connected to the people and world around us.
